相见时难别亦难，——So difficult to see thee and still harder to say bye
东风无力百花残。——the feeble east breeze breathes the withered flowers away
春蚕到死丝方尽，——lovesick silkworms never stop spinning before they die
蜡炬成灰泪始干。——yearning tapers dry up despair tears only after they expire
晓镜但愁云鬓改，——yonder lest the temple jet should fade away thy gloom haunts the morn mirror each day
夜吟应觉月光寒。——Here intoning poems lonely at midnight shiver I shall in the moon bright
蓬莱此去无多路，——Well，not so far is the wonder island Peng-lay where thou fairy ladies stay
青鸟殷勤为探看。—— Since the Blue-bird of our correspondence will kindly shuttle on that way
